NTHU Epidemic Prevention Guidelines(111.4.20)
1. Conduct self-health monitoring.
(1) Take body temperature and report immediately if the temperature is greater than 37.5 degrees.
(2) Keep hands clean: Sanitize the hands.
(3) Wear a mask: Replace the mask immediately if sneezing or mask contaminated.
(4) Do not go to class while sick, and go to a doctor ASAP.
(5) Do not talk while eating: Observe social distancing (outdoor 1m; indoor 1.5m)

3. Building access control: real-name registration implemented
4. Campus access control:
The university campus is open to the general public from 7 am to 11 pm every day.
(1) Main campus:
(a) North gate, west gate, and south gate: real-name registration and body temperature measurement for general public
(b) East gate and the new faculty dormitory aisle: real-name registration and body temperature measurement for general public from 7 am to 11 pm
(c) The parking tower and the old south gate motorcycles parking area: real-name registration and body temperature measurement for general public from 7 am to 11 pm
(2) Nanda campus:
(a) Main entrance: real-name registration and body temperature measurement for general public
(b) Continuing Education Building and Interdepartmental Teaching Building: real-name registration and body temperature measurement for general public from 7 am to 11 pm
5. Campus restaurants:

(2) Real-name registration is implemented. Those who have a fever or upper respiratory tract symptoms are prohibited from entering.
(3) You can take off the mask temporarily when you have a meal, and wear the mask immediately back on afterwards. The anti-epidemic partitions are installed for diners.
6. Loan of venue:
All activities and meetings in the loaned venue must follow the epidemic prevention measures set by the Ministry of Education and the Central Epidemic Command Center.
(1) Please encourage event participants and staff who meet the vaccination age to complete the COVID-19 vaccine booster (third dose) and download the "Taiwan Social Distancing" APP；Group activities should adopt real-name register and body temperature measurement. Wear masks throughout the activity, keep hands clean and disinfection. (The outdoor barbecue area is temporarily closed.)
(2) Eating and drinking are prohibited during the event, and perform a risk assessment before the event.
7. Guest house 1 and Guest house Ching 10F：
(1) Online booking is open for both venues.
(2) The breakfast area of Guest House 1 is open for on-site use.
8. Passengers are required to wear a mask and scan SMS QR Code before getting on the bus. If you feel sick, please don't get on the bus.
9. Laboratory access control: Real-name registration should be implemented.
10. All management units of campus buildings should continue to clean and disinfect the building and maintain ventilation in classrooms and other studying areas.
11. Replenish the disinfection alcohol at the entrance of the building and throw trichloroisocyanuric acid tablets in the sewage storage tank (septic tank). Materials can be collected from the Environments and Safety and Health Center.
12. Pandemic Prevention Measures for Student Dormitories
(1) Daily visitors will need to register online. (Registration Regulation for Dormitory Visitor: https://sthousing.site.nthu.edu.tw/p/406-1254-210209.php?Lang=en).
(2) Sanitize common shared areas daily.
(3) Cover the buttons or switch of water dispensers and lights with protective film.
(4) Place alcohol hand sanitizers at the entrance of each dormitory. Install additional automatic thermal scanner at the administration office. Prepare individual thermometers for students.
(5) Place soaps on public wash basins for cleansing.
(6) Janitors should complete hygiene education training and daily self-health management should be provided.
(7) Post the following matters on the bulletin of each dormitory or announce on the e-bulletin:
• Put on face masks before leaving the dormitory rooms.
• Wash hands frequently.
(8) Students who have fever (axillary temperature ≥37.5℃), respiratory symptoms and other symptoms should seek medical attention immediately, return home to recuperate, and report to Division of Health Service (03-574300,Monday to Friday 8:00-17:00) and Division of Student Assistance (03 -5711814, 24 hours) for follow-up care and tracking. For example, overseas students will be arranged in Anxin dormitory after medical treatment, and return to the original dormitory after recovery.
(1) General regulations:
(a) Wear a mask all the time and maintain social distance. Real-name registration and body temperature measurement are implemented at the entrances.
(b) Students in physical education classes don’t need to wear the mask when engaging in sports, but they should carry the mask. If you have related symptoms or can’t keep social distancing with unspecified person, you should still wear the mask.
(c) Masks are not required in sports competitions, but reserve players still need to wear the mask.
(d) Everyone should use their personal sport equipment; borrowing from others is not allowed.
(e) Please follow the relevant measures for epidemic prevention. For those cannot comply, we reserve the right to close the sport facilities and ask the persons to leave.

(2) Swimming pool:
(a) Wear a mask at all times, except when swimming. Wear a mask immediately after leaving water and leave the venue as soon as possible.
(b) Maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters.
(c) Single entrance and exit are enforced. Real-name register and temperature measurement are enforced.
(d) Seal your mask in a zipper bag and store it in the storage area before entering water.
(e) The children's pool and the second floor remain closed.
(3) Opening hours for the facilities on the Nanda campus can be found:
(1) Entry control:
(a) Library opens to the patrons with valid library cards. Main Library and Nanda Branch open to the visitors with temporary cards.
(b) In response to the epidemic prevention safety measures of the Building, the Humanities and Social Sciences Branch will not provide temporary library cards for entering. If there is a need to use the collections of the HS Branch, please contact 03-5742814 or email@example.com in advance.
(c) Real-name registration with ID cards when entering the library.
(d) Body temperature checks are required.
(e) Mask wearing are required. Please keep social-distancing.
(a) Guided tour are available and all participants comply with infection control measures as stated above (1)
(b) Library Workshops are open for physical and online attendance.
(3) Library conducts environmental disinfection work continually.
(4) Epidemic prevention measures adjustments are available on the library website, Facebook, e-newsletter according to the nationwide epidemic alert.
15. Courses (Apr. 20 updated):
From 4/20, Teachers may adopt distance teaching depending on the epidemic situation and the nature of the course. (Advised to prioritize on-site teaching and distance learning in parallel)
(1) All courses should adopt on-site teaching as a principle. (flexible adjustments may be made based on the epidemic situation):
(a) On-site teaching: fixed seat is still required for the same class and photo should be taken as the proof for contact tracing.
(b) Taking in-class exam in principle and the detail should be clearly stated in the syllabus. If you need to change the syllabus during the term, please explain the situation to the class and your rationale for your decision and get mutual agreement with the students.
(c) Students should wear masks throughout the class and avoid eating and short-distance talking in the classroom. Instructors are allowed to teach without wearing masks if social distancing can be kept or partition can be employed appropriately.
(d) Hands-on and experimental courses shall be organized in fixed groups, and disinfection shall be carried out when rotating the use of equipment.
(e) Performing arts courses:
i. Except for the courses of singing, dancing and playing the wind instruments, other students are required to wear masks throughout the course and should adjust the practice time to avoid discomfort caused by wearing the mask for a long time (Note: If one has cardiovascular disease or respiratory allergies, please avoid attending the course)
ii. Considering that a student singing, dancing and playing the wind instrument is unable to wear a mask throughout the rehearsal, then the student may take off the mask temporarily while singing, dancing and playing, otherwise wearing a mask is required.
Using personal equipment (e.g. musical instruments, costumes) is required in principle. Exclusive musical instrument (e.g. mouthpiece) is a must when playing the wind instruments. Sharing is not allowed. Microphones used in drama classes should be dedicated in principle.
(f) Scanning the QR Code before entering the classroom.
(2) The NTHU Study at Ease Project for COVID-19 Prevention has been posted on “Epidemic Prevention Zone” of homepage of NTHU and Office of Academic Affairs.
(a) The students who should quarantine and conduct independent health management and have registered in “NTHU Division of Health Service Survey on Epidemics” are applicable to the following option:
i. Course Implementation Methods：The Division of Curriculum will mark those students who have registered in “NTHU Division of Health Service Survey on Epidemics” because of the COVID-19 prevention on the attendance list and ask instructors to provide distance learning. (With the consent of the instructor, the teaching assistant may upload the course content or video files to the school's e-Learning platform within one week after the course. Only students who enrolled the course have the access to use the online resources for distance learning. Students should contact the instructors to discuss issues such as course articulation and self-learning. If the quarantine and independent health management period coincides with the Add-or-Drop and Course Withdrawal period, please refer to “NTHU Study at Ease Project for COVID-19 Prevention”
ii. Leave of absence：Please apply for leave of absence by emailing the instructor while stating the reason for your absence. The Division of Curriculum will notify the instructor not to count the student’s absence and the absence will not cause the deduction of final score.
iii. Examination ：Students who are unable to attend classes or take exams due to coronavirus prevention, their instructors can make flexible adjustments to assess their achievement such as make-up exam. The results of the make-up exam will be regarded as the formal exam result.
(b) The attendance list should not share with unauthorized people to protect personal information.
(3) According to the newly released “Standards of class suspension and the regulations of epidemic prevention guidelines” announced by the Ministry of Education on April. 12, 2022, individuals who have contacted the COVID-19 confirmed cases have been notified by e-mail to suspend on-site classes for 3 days and perform self-health monitoring (Please follow the content of the e-mail). During the same period, the university will also conduct environmental cleaning and disinfection.
(4) Classroom precaution measures
(a) Classroom ventilation: When turning on air-conditions in the classroom, the classroom should leave each window open for at least 15 centimeters. Additional fans can also be added.
(b) Classroom sanitization: Those items that teachers and students often touch (e.g. door handles, desktops, light switches, etc.) should always be cleaned and sanitized at least once a day.
(c) Please confirm that there are sufficient number of QR code papers printed off and displayed at entry points of the classroom.
(d) Every department and division can place diluted alcohol in the classroom for instructors and students to sanitize.

16. Student Club Activities：

17. All faculties, staffs and students are encouraged not to travel abroad to avoid unnecessary infection.
