NTHU Epidemic Prevention Guidelines(111.5.13)

1. Conduct self-health monitoring.
(1) Take body temperature and report immediately if the temperature is higher than 37.5 degrees.
(2) Keep hands clean: Sanitize the hands.
(3) Wear a mask: Replace the mask immediately after sneezing or contamination.
(4) Do not go to class while sick, and go to a doctor ASAP.
(5) Do not talk while eating: Keep a social distance (outdoor 1m; indoor 1.5m)

2. Those who are diagnosed with COVID-19, or under home isolation, home quarantine, self-health management, and self-initiated epidemic prevention period should report to the survey “NTHU Division of Health Service Survey on Epidemics”, contact the Division of Health Service 03-5743000 during office hours (Mon to Fri, 8:00-17:00) or Student Assistance Division 03-5711814 (24hr) and please do NOT come to campus.

3. Those who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 are requested to cooperate with the on-campus epidemic investigation procedures. When you are informed of the diagnosis, please stay where you are and do not move. Immediately report to the Division of Health Service at 03-5743000 (weekdays) or the Student Assistance Division at 03-5711814 (24 hours). In order to speed up the epidemic investigation, please fill in the “Confirmed Case Self Report Form” within 8 hours, and inform your close contacts that they need to start home isolation and return home.
4. Campus access control: 
The university campus is open to the general public from 7 am to 11 pm daily.
(1) Main campus:
(a) North Gate, West Gate and South Gate: body temperature check for non-campus personnel.
(b) East Gate and New Faculty Dormitory (7 am to 11 pm): body temperature check for non-campus personnel.
(c) Parking tower and Old South Gate motorcycles parking area (7 am to 11 pm): body temperature checks for non-campus personnel.
(2) Nanda campus:
(a) Main entrance: Real-Name Registration System QR-Code and body temperature checks for non-campus personnel.
(b) Comprehensive Teaching Building and Extension Education Building (7 am to 11 pm): body temperature check for non-campus personnel. 
5. Campus restaurants:
(1) Order-to-go meals are encouraged. (Website for the online ordering system: http://ddfm.site.nthu.edu.tw/p/405-1494-204334,c82.php?Lang=zh-tw)。
(2) Real-name registration is implemented. Those who have a fever or upper respiratory tract symptoms are prohibited from entering. 
(3) You can take off the mask temporarily when having the meal, but put the mask back on immediately afterwards. The anti-epidemic partitions are installed for diners.
6. Facility rental services: 
All activities and meetings in the rented facilities must follow the epidemic prevention measures declared by the Ministry of Education and the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control.
(1) Please encourage event participants and staff who meet the vaccination age to complete the COVID-19 vaccine booster (third dose) and download the "Taiwan Social Distancing" APP. Group activities should keep on using On-Campus Real-Name Registration System QR-Code and body temperature check. Wear a mask at all time, keep hands clean and sanitized. (The outdoor BBQ area is temporarily closed.)
(2) Please avoid eating and drinking during the event. If dietary cannot be avoided, suitable dining areas should be arranged, cleaned up and disinfected. Please perform a risk assessment before the event.
7. Guest house 1 and Guest house Ching 10F:
(1) Online booking is open for both venues.
(2) The breakfast area of Guest House 1 is open for on-site use.
8. Passengers taking the bus must wear a mask and check in via the On-Campus Real-Name Registration System QR-Code. If you feel unwell, please don't get on the bus. 
9. Laboratory access control: Real-name registration should be implemented. 
10. All management teams of campus buildings should continue to clean and disinfect the building and maintain well ventilation in classrooms and other studying areas.
11. Disinfection alcohol at the entrance of the building and trichloroisocyanuric acid tablets for sanitizing the sewage storage tank (septic tank) can be collected from the Environments and Safety and Health Center.
12. Pandemic Prevention Measures for Student Dormitories
(1) Visitors will need to register online. (Registration Regulation for Dormitory Visitor: https://sthousing.site.nthu.edu.tw/p/406-1254-210209.php?Lang=en).
(2) Sanitize shared areas daily.
(3) Cover the buttons or switches of water dispensers and lights with protective films.
(4) Place hand sanitizers at the entrance of each dormitory. Install additional automatic thermal scanner at the administration office. Prepare individual thermometers for students.
(5) Place soaps on public wash basins for cleansing.
(6) Janitors should complete hygiene education training and conduct daily self-health management.
(7) Post the following matters on the bulletin of each dormitory or the e-bulletin:
․Put on face masks before leaving the dormitory rooms.
․Wash hands frequently. 
(8) Students who have a fever (axillary temperature ≥37.5℃), respiratory symptoms, and other symptoms should seek medical attention immediately and report to Division of Health Service (03-574300, Monday to Friday 8:00-17:00) and Division of Student Assistance (03 -5711814, 24 hours) for follow-up care and tracking.  They should return home to recuperate. Overseas students will be arranged in Anxin dormitory after medical treatments, and return to the original dormitory after recovery.
13.Sports Facilities:
(1) General regulations:
(a) Wear a mask at all times and maintain a social distance. Real-name registration and body temperature measurement are implemented at the entrances.
(b) Students do not need to wear a mask when engaging in sports during physical education classes , but they should carry the mask. If you have symptoms or can’t keep a social distance with unspecified person, you should still wear the mask.
(c) Masks are not required in sports competitions, but reserve players still need to wear the mask.
(d) Everyone should use their personal sport equipment; borrowing from others is not allowed.
(e) To enter the gym, you should provide the certificate of vaccination for at least 3 doses (small yellow card/digital vaccine certificate/health insurance card with vaccination). Those who have not completed 3 doses of vaccination should fulfill the following criteria to enter the gym:
i. Within 12 weeks after receiving 2 doses of the vaccine.
ii. When vaccination medical exemption applies and a certificate for a negative rapid screening within 3 days is provided. Masks should be worn at all times for these individuals.

(2) Swimming pool:
(a) Wear a mask at all times, except when swimming. Wear a mask immediately after leaving water and leave the pool as soon as possible.
(b) Maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters.
(c) Single entrance and single exit are enforced. Temperature measurement are enforced.
(d) Seal your mask in a zipper bag and store it in the storage area before entering the water.
(e) The children's pool and the second floor remain closed.

14.Library services:
(1) Entry control: 
(a) Library opens to the patrons with valid library cards. Main Library and Nanda Branch open to the visitors with temporary cards.
(b) In response to the epidemic prevention safety measures of the Building, the Humanities and Social Sciences Branch is not open to visitors with temporary library cards. If there is a need to use the collections of the HS Branch, please contact 03-5742814 or hslib@my.nthu.edu.tw in advance.
(c) Visitors without Library Cards are required to use On-Campus Real-Name Registration System QR-Code at the entrance.
(d) Body temperature checks are required.
(e) Mask wearing are required. Please keep social-distancing.
(2) Services:
(a) Guided tours are available and all participants comply with infection control measures as stated in (1)
(b) Library workshops will switch to online mode as needed.
(c) Please contact the library if extending the due date, canceling the items on hold, or eliminating the counting for overdue items is required due to the pandemic.
(3) Epidemic prevention measures:
(a) Library conducts environmental disinfection continually.

15. Courses (May. 6 updated):
(1) Teachers can adopt distance teaching depending on the epidemic situation and the nature of the course in addition to on-site teaching for all course. (flexible adjustments may be made based on the epidemic situation):
(a) Distance teaching: teachers may track the attendances, learning situations, and check the teaching effectiveness.
(b) On-site teaching: fixed seat is still required for the same class and photo should be taken as the proof for contact tracing. Students should wear masks throughout the class and implement hand disinfection. No eating and drinking. Avoid close contact in the classroom. Teachers should wear masks when teaching. Transparent masks could be worn if teachers have special teaching needs. 
(c) In principle, physical exam should be implemented. The details for grading should be clearly stated in the syllabus. If teacher need to change the syllabus during the term, please explain the situation and your rationales to the class to obtain mutual agreement with the students. If distance teaching is implemented and physical exams are impracticable, various online assessments can be implemented according to the nature of the course in addition to the physical examination, which can be scheduled when allowed. http://ctld.nthu.edu.tw/news/index.php?mode=data&id=3450
(d) P.E. Class:
i. Teachers and students should wear masks during the class. Masks can be removed when teachers and students can keep a social distance and have no symptoms of respiratory tract infection.
ii. Teachers and students should carry masks. If not exercising during the class or after the P.E. class, they need to wear masks.
iii. Sharing sports equipment shall be avoided. If there is a need for sharing equipment, disinfection shall be carried out before sharing.
(e) Performing arts courses:
i. Except for the courses of singing, dancing, and playing the wind instruments, wearing masks throughout the course is required. Adjust the practice time to avoid discomforts caused by wearing the mask for a long time (Note: If one has cardiovascular disease or respiratory allergies, please avoid attending the course)
ii. Students may take off the mask temporarily while singing, dancing and playing the instrument; otherwise, wearing a mask is required.
iii. Using personal equipment (e.g. musical instruments, costumes) is required in principle. Exclusive musical instrument (e.g. mouthpiece) is a must when playing the wind instruments. Sharing is not allowed. Microphones used in drama classes should be dedicated in principle.
(f) Scanning the QR Code before entering the classroom.
(2) The NTHU Study at Ease Project for COVID-19 Prevention has been posted on “Epidemic Prevention Zone” on the homepage of NTHU and Office of Academic Affairs.
(a) The students who are quarantined and conducting independent health management and have registered in “NTHU Division of Health Service Survey on Epidemics” apply to the following options:
i. Course Implementation Methods:the Division of Curriculum will mark the students' status "pandemic leave and self-health management" on the roll according to the list of the "Health Service Survey on Epidemics". Teachers are requested to provide remote learning—synchronous or non-synchronous (with the consent of the teacher, the teaching assistant will upload the video file to the University's digital learning platform within one week after the class, which is provided only for students to watch the course online), and students are also requested to take the initiative to communicate with the teacher and discuss issues such as course content and self-learning methods. If the quarantine and independent health management period coincides with the Add-or-Drop and Course Withdrawal period, please refer to “NTHU Study at Ease Project for COVID-19 Prevention”.
ii. Leave of absence: Please request a leave of absence by emailing the instructor. The Division of Curriculum will notify the instructor not to count the student’s absence and the absence will not cause the deduction of final score.
iii. Examination :Intructors can make flexible adjustments, make flexible adjustments, for students who are unable to attend classes or take exams due to the coronavirus prevention such as make-up exam. The results of the make-up exam will be regarded as the formal exam result.
(b) The attendance list should not be shared with unauthorized people to protect the personal information. 
(3) Classroom precaution measures
(a) Classroom ventilation: When turning on air-conditions in the classroom, the classroom should leave one window open for at least 15 centimeters. Additional fans can also be added.
(b) Classroom sanitization: Items that teachers and students often touch (e.g. door handles, desktops, light switches, etc.) should always be cleaned and sanitized at least once a day.
(c) Please confirm that there are sufficient numbers of QR code papers posted at entry points of the classroom.
(d) Every department and division can place diluted alcohol in the classroom for instructors and students to sanitize.

16. Student Club Activities:

17. All faculties, staffs and students are encouraged not to travel abroad to avoid unnecessary infection.
